The New Forest District Association (NFDA) is a part of the Camping and Caravanning Club. The UK is divided into 13 regions and our region, South West Region, is divided into District Association (DA) areas together with special interest groups. As a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club you are automatically a member of your local DA. You may camp with any DA or section within the club. There is a programme of camping meets from early March to the end of October. During the winter months rallies require pre booking. Walks, conservation meets and various social activities continue during the winter months.
The theme for the NFOL is ‘science fiction’, which means the event will be out of this world!
The North West Region is the host for the 2018 event, which is the Club’s annual national rally. And it promises to be fun-packed with entertainment for all the family plus a selection of trade stalls.
There is also the Mardi Gras parade, and the ‘lighting up’ of camping units when participating members, District Associations and Special Interest Sections create illuminated street scenes to brighten up the dark night.
Arley Hall itself is recognisable as being the backdrop for many television programmes such as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Coronation Street and Songs of Praise.
The historic hall is located in the heart of the estate and overlooks the beautiful gardens and landscaped parkland.
This site once was a sand pit, hence the name and the light sandy soil.
It is owned and operated by the Portsmouth Division of Girlguiding. It is just off the A334 north west of the village of Shedfield in Hampshire. The rally field is a level field within a tree lined area full of wild life. Many attractions are within easy reach including Marwell Zoo, Portsmouth Historic dockyard and Blue Reef aquarium in Southsea. There is limited space so its important to call to establish availability before travelling
